Key Responsibilities
- Drive and exceed sales and order entry targets within your assigned regional territories and sectors, focusing on solutions for hazardous locations.
- Strategically engage with end users, consultants, and design houses during the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) phase to secure our specialized product suite for explosion protection within project specifications.
- Collaborate with a global Key Account Team to execute project strategies, aligning local and international stakeholders for successful Request for Quotation (RFQ) outcomes for our hazardous area technologies.
- Identify and cultivate growth within our installed base by building enduring relationships with clients at all organizational levels, focusing on their ongoing needs for explosion-proof equipment and systems.
- Conduct thorough technical and commercial evaluations of project RFQs for complex electrical and automation solutions in hazardous zones and lead pricing negotiations in line with internal cost structures.
- Partner with internal sales engineers and technical teams to develop optimized solutions tailored to specific client requirements in hazardous industrial settings.
- Manage comprehensive solutions, including the strategic sourcing of third-party components to deliver complete project proposals for safe and reliable operations in potentially explosive atmospheres.
- Maintain meticulous records of all sales activities and pipeline opportunities within CRM platforms, with a focus on projects requiring hazardous area certifications.
- Ensure strict adherence to internal compliance standards and corporate governance policies throughout the sales process, particularly concerning safety regulations in hazardous environments.
What You Bring to the Table
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred), with a strong understanding of intrinsic safety and explosion protection principles.
- Minimum of 10 years in technical sales of industrial or plant applications, ideally within the Oil & Gas, Marine, or Petrochemical industries, with a significant focus on hazardous area equipment.
- Demonstrated success in managing and closing large, intricate technical tenders involving multiple stakeholders for projects with stringent safety requirements in explosive atmospheres.
- Strong understanding of project decision-making processes, including effective influence during the FEED stage for the specification of hazardous area solutions.
- Proven experience working with distributors and managing end-to-end RFQ processes for specialized equipment used in hazardous locations.
- Familiarity with hazardous area product certifications (e.g., ATEX, IECEx) is a significant advantage.
- Excellent communication skills in both English, proficiency in German is a plus, beneficial for understanding global standards in explosion protection.
- Proficient in CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred), MS Office Suite, and ideally design tools such as AutoCAD, particularly in the context of electrical layouts in hazardous areas.
- Strategic thinker with the tenacity to navigate long sales cycles and perform effectively under pressure in the demanding field of industrial safety.
- Willingness to travel extensively across the region to engage with clients and support project execution in diverse hazardous industrial environments.
