ASTAR Infectious Diseases Labs (ASTAR IDL) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Scientist to join us in advancing research at the cutting edge of infectious diseases. A*STAR IDL aims to be the global leader in tropical infectious diseases through scientific excellence in research and innovation to enhance human health and respond to future pandemics.

The laboratory headed by Prof Marco Vignuzzi, in the A*STAR IDL institute, researches in virus evolution and novel antiviral approaches and vaccine therapies. We are seeking an ambitious and dynamic individual with a high level of autonomy to work on a vaccine platform based on positive-strand RNA viruses as vaccine vectors.

Job Description:

• To develop a vaccine platform based on using recombinant RNA viruses derived from either alphaviruses, flaviviruses or enteroviruses.
• To participate in other basic and applied research activities in the lab.
• To help train graduate students in the lab.

Job Requirements:

• PhD in Vaccinology or MD in infectious diseases, familiarity with the virus families of interest.
• Atleast 5 years of relevant experience is preferred.
• Skills in genetic engineering and molecular cloning, using infectious clones.
• Knowledge of picornaviruses, alphaviruses or flaviviruses.
• Knowledge of preclinical and clinical trials is an advantage.
