A leading IT services provider is seeking a Regional Compute Engineer to manage compute infrastructure across the APAC region. This role supports a complex enterprise environment and plays a critical part in ensuring system performance, security, and availability across data centres and cloud platforms.

Role Overview

The Compute Engineer will handle the administration and optimisation of infrastructure servers, cloud instances, application servers, and storage systems. The ideal candidate must be capable of leading operational support, managing audits, ensuring compliance, and delivering infrastructure improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer infrastructure servers, cloud resources (AWS/Azure), storage, backup, and data centre operations.
• Manage server OS (Windows and non-Windows), Active Directory, patching, update servers, and application hosting environments.
• Collaborate with solution teams to ensure integration and compliance.
• Monitor compute resource usage, conduct tuning, and implement improvements.
• Perform access reviews, security checks, and maintain audit-compliant documentation.
• Respond to incidents, troubleshoot effectively, and propose preventive measures.
• Provide technical leadership during system crisis or recovery scenarios.
• Contribute to team development, knowledge sharing, and regional standardisation.
• Develop technical proposals for upgrades, cloud migration, and cost optimisation.
• Maintain detailed documentation and regular reports.

Must-Have Technical Skills

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in system administration and compute infrastructure.
• Strong proficiency in Windows Server OS, Active Directory, and server protocols.
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), including cloud instance administration.
• Experience with scripting (e.g., PowerShell or basic Python).
• Understanding of identity management, access control, and security protocols.
• Familiarity with backup, disaster recovery, and performance tuning techniques.
• Experience working in regional or MNC environments.

Good-to-Have / Advantageous Skills

• Relevant certifications: Microsoft, AWS, Azure, ITIL.
• Experience with virtualization tools and automation platforms.
• Background in managing audits and ensuring regulatory compliance.
