The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) is dedicated to promoting kidney health and providing quality, highly subsidised dialysis treatment and holistic care to patients. While supporting kidney failure patients with quality dialysis treatment and integrated care, NKF's greater mission lies in preventing or delaying kidney failure through kidney health education, with deeper integration into the community and strategic collaborative partnerships.

Key goals include tackling the growing prevalence of kidney failure, enhancing patient support and care, and leveraging innovative technologies to improve quality and efficacy of treatment, enabling patients to thrive on dialysis. With a steadfast focus on these initiatives, NKF aims to be at the forefront of kidney health in Singapore .

We are seeking qualified and experienced Senior/ Physiotherapist to join the Allied Health team. Reporting to the Head of Allied Health, you will be required to provide high quality physiotherapy services to dialysis patients, ensure comprehensive care and support during treatment and recovery. Your responsibilities are as follows:

1. Patient Assessment and Intervention:
  • Assess and identify patients' physiotherapy needs and perform targeted therapy interventions tailored to individual needs and goals.

2. Assistive Devices and Equipment:
  • Prescribe and recommend appropriate assistive devices and equipment based on patient requirements to enhance mobility and overall functionality.

3. Multidisciplinary Collaboration
  • Actively collaborate with other healthcare professionals within a Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) to provide holistic care and treatment plans for dialysis patients.

4. Holistic Care Model Implementation
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to implement and sustain a holistic care model, ensuring seamless patient management across all touchpoints.

5. Research and Quality Improvement
  • Lead or assist in research and/or quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing physiotherapy service delivery, ensuring evidence-based practices.

6. Patient and Caregiver Empowerment
  • Educate and empower patients, caregivers, and Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs) to actively participate in therapy interventions and follow-up care.

7. Administrative Duties
  • Perform daily administrative tasks including updating patient treatment plans, condition tracking, and maintaining accurate records in the CRM system.

8. Budget and Resource Management
  • Prepare and manage the physiotherapy-related budget, track resource utilization, and ensure optimal allocation of resources for patient care.

9. Procurement and Equipment Management
  • Propose and review relevant devices or equipment required for patient treatment and clinical interventions. Oversee the entire procurement process for new equipment and facilitate the setup of new facilities.

10. Policy and Procedure Development
  • Develop work policies, procedures, and internal controls to optimize resource management and improve the overall patient experience during treatment.

11. Staff Development and Performance Management
  • Review and manage the performance of physiotherapy staff, provide on-the-job training (OJT), and design in-service training programs to enhance team capabilities and service delivery.


Qualifications
  • Degree in Physiotherapy from a recognised University


Experience
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience for Senior Physiotherapists (Snr PT) or 4 years for Physiotherapists (PT) in a healthcare setting or equivalent.


Licensing
  • Membership with the Allied Health Professional Council (AHPC) with full or restricted practicing license is mandatory.

  • Leadership Management: Strong leadership skills, including the ability to manage and guide staff performance, deliver training programs, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Budgeting & Resource Management: Proficient in budgeting and managing resources effectively, ensuring that physiotherapy services are delivered within financial and operational constraints.
  • Research and Quality Improvement: Demonstrated ability to lead or participate in research and quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team. Ability converse in local dialects is a plus.
  • Organisational Skills: Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.

- Reporting Venue : NKF HQ

- Candidate is required to travel to DCs island wide as part of work.
