The Chief Strategy and Engagement Officer (CSEO) serves as part of senior management of APC, reporting to the CEO. The CSEO's job description is as follows:
Strategic Planning
• Works with the Board of Directors and the CEO to contribute to the design and implementation of APC's strategic plan
• Contributes to the annual operating plans, including identifying key priorities and initiatives that will shape APC's growth and impact
• Creates the annual strategy and operating plans to align staff members
• Lead and monitor the implementation of approved strategies and operating plans
Management
• Supports the CEO in the review and implementation of the organizational set-up
• Ensures an adequate level of staff engagement
• Supports staff development
• Identifies and designs solutions to enhance member engagement
Member Growth
• Develops member acquisition and engagement strategies, and oversees their execution
• Oversees staff in documenting and finetuning the "APC process" that allows for effective engagement of members and adds value to their philanthropic endeavors
• Continuously fosters an ongoing relationship of trust with members, and a continued unique value proposition for APC
• Oversees staff in the management of member engagement.
• Develop membership growth strategy in close collaboration with CEO
• Oversees, together with the CEO, APC's prospection strategy and outreach efforts
• Supports membership growth efforts
Financial & Governance Stewardship
• Manages the budget for member engagement
• Identifies APC's initiatives that need specific funding
• Explores opportunities for funding
Member Engagement
• Designs and leads APC's membership engagement strategy and operations
• Cultivates relationships with members
• Develops and oversees the CRM system
• Pilot initiatives identified by the new strategic plan
• Oversees APC Relationship Managers
Member Programming
• Designs and oversees APC's membership engagement programmes
• Actively engages members in programme design.
• Leads member-to-member engagement and exchange initiatives
• Pilots new membership engagement initiatives
• Ensure smooth execution of all events and activities
• Monitors the effectiveness and impact of programmes
Financial & Governance Stewardship
• Manages the budget for member engagement
• Identifies APC's initiatives that need specific funding
• Explores opportunities for funding
Communications
• Contributes to building a communications strategy and reinforces member communications
• Advises on communication materials and content shared with members
Community Relationships
• Helps develop APC's global visibility and influence
• Builds peer collaborations, creates cross-learning opportunities
• Develop partnerships
Requirements
Together with a high-level of personal integrity, candidates should demonstrate a strong track record as team player, bring experience and expertise in social impact and philanthropy, and fulfil the following requirements.
- Strong alignment with the mission and vision of APC.
- Exceptional leaders with high level of commitment, willingness and ability to help grow APC.
- Strategic and a strong achievement orientation.
- Outstanding people skills, with credibility and ability to engage experienced philanthropists, and engagement across sectors and global philanthropic partners.
- A track record of a minimum of 10 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in leadership roles, with at least two years of social or philanthropy sector experience in Asia.
- International, cross-cultural experience.
