CNRS@CREATE LTD.
6 months Research Assistant/ Associate (RA) Position at CNRS@Create: LLMs for Multicriteria Decision Making
The DesCartes program aims to develop disruptive hybrid AI to serve the smart city and to enable optimized decision-making in complex situations, encountered for critical urban systems.
DESCARTES PROGRAM
The DesCartes programme is developing a hybrid AI, combining Learning, Knowledge and Reasoning, which has good properties (need for less resources and data, security, robustness, fairness, respect for privacy, ethics), and demonstrated on industrial applications of the smart city (digital energy, monitoring of structures, air traffic control).
The program brings together 80 permanent researchers (half from France, half from Singapore), with the support of large industrial groups (Thales SG, EDF SG, ESI group, CETIM Matcor, ARIA etc.).
The research will take place mainly in Singapore, at the premises of CNRS@CREATE, with a competitive salary and generous funding for missions.
Read more about the DesCartes program here.
Context
The RA will take place within DesCartes program, https://www.cnrsatcreate.cnrs.fr/descartes/, a large research project that aims to develop disruptive hybrid AI to serve the smart city and to enable optimized decision-making in complex situations, encountered for critical urban systems.
Scientific description
Large language models have shown very competitive results in many tasks, including reasoning and several NLP tasks. This position will explore how LLMs can deal with complex reasoning tasks such the ones involved in multicriteria decision making.
Supervision
The position will happen within the France-Singapore collaboration, with advisors from both sides with a supervision by Farah Benamara at CNRS@Create (Toulouse university, IPAL-CNRS) and Pascale Zaraté (Toulouse University).
Candidate
We are looking for candidates with:
→ Bachelor's/ Master's degree in Computer science with solid theoretical background in NLP, AI and machine learning, including LLMs. Very strong academic records are highly recommended.
→ Good experience in deep learning approaches for NLP
→ Good programming skills in Python
→ Very good English skills (both writing and speaking)
→ Can work collaboratively with other researchers
FURTHER INFORMATION & CONTACT
Gross Monthly Salary Range (SGD): 5,000-7,500
Workplace Address: CREATE Tower, 1 Create Way #08-01 Singapore 138602
