Job Requirements
Chief Engineer Experience: At least Chief Engineer sea-going experience, with a qualification in Certification of Competency Class 1 Motor (COC Class 1).
Industry Experience: Minimum of 3 to 4 years' experience, preferably in the management of tankers and bulk carriers.
Ship Management Knowledge : Possess a strong working knowledge of ship management, including maintenance, operations, and regulatory compliance.
Technical and Problem-Solving Skills : Demonstrate excellent technical and problem-solving skills, capable of addressing and resolving complex engineering issues effectively.

Main Areas of Responsibility
Preventive Maintenance Implementation: Responsible for the effective implementation of preventive maintenance of hull, main machinery, deck machinery, electrical equipment, etc., as described in the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) and in accordance with Class and Flag State requirements.
Class and Flag State Compliance: Monitor and plan for Class and Flag State requirements, supervise the required surveys, and ensure that the certificates of assigned vessels are maintained in compliance with relevant Class and Flag State regulations.
Regulatory Awareness: Keep abreast of statutory and Class regulations and standards to ensure ongoing compliance.
Vessel Monitoring and Reporting: Attend and sail with vessels to monitor their conditions. Prepare condition/attendance reports, including comments on cargo operations, maintenance, and crew performance.
Inspection Analysis and Follow-Up : Analyze the results of assigned vessel inspections and follow up on all reports regarding vessel condition and performance.
Maintenance Instructions: Issue maintenance instructions (job orders) following vessel inspections to address identified issues.
Technical Support : Assist shipboard personnel in eliminating problems and malfunctions, providing guidance and technical solutions.
Repair Methods and Contractor Selection: Develop efficient repair methods and, in cooperation with the Senior Manager, evaluate and select quality sub-contractors for repairs.
Technical Assistance: Provide technical assistance and advice to ships both at the home port and overseas, ensuring vessels operate efficiently and safely.
Dry Docking and Repairs: Attend to vessel dry docking, repairs, and surveys when required. Determine repair specifications for dry docking and maintenance.
HSSE Collaboration: Work closely with the HSSE department to ensure the smooth and successful implementation of systems and policies for the division.
Repair Quotations and Selection: Evaluate repair quotations and select repair companies and locations based on the best quality of work and cost considerations, while taking into account the vessels' itinerary and Charter Party obligations.
Repair Implementation: Implement repair specifications effectively and efficiently, ensuring repairs are completed in a timely manner to avoid delays to the vessels' commercial schedules.
Safety Management: Ensure and maintain a zero-loss-time accident record for vessels. Report all vessel incidents and near misses to prevent and eliminate potential incidents.
Additional Technical Assignments: Undertake any other technical-related assignments as required.
