Job Responsibilities
  • Course Instruction: Delivering engaging and comprehensive course instruction in counselling-related subjects, ensuring students' understanding and application of theoretical concepts.
  • Academic Development: Actively contributing to the ongoing development and enhancement of counselling programs and curricula.
  • Student Supervision and Guidance: Providing mentorship and support to students, fostering their academic and personal growth, and guiding them in their career aspirations.
  • Student Recruitment and Evaluation: Participating in the selection and evaluation process of prospective students, identifying individuals with strong potential for counselling studies.
  • Research and Publication: Engaging in scholarly research and publishing articles.
  • Institutional Support: Collaborating with colleagues and departments to support the overall objectives and mission of the institution.
  • Student Development: Demonstrating genuine care for students' learning and spiritual development, promoting a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
  • Community Involvement: Actively participating in the community life of the School of Counselling and the larger academic community within the institution.

Job Qualifications
  • Agreement with the College's mission, vision, values, beliefs, and Statement of Faith. (See SBC's Website)
  • Ph.D. or PsyD in Counseling Psychology or related field.
  • Minimum five years of counselling experience, with additional experience in providing psychological education and training preferred.
  • Strong commitment to biblical principles and values.
  • Effective communicator.
