Overview
The Associate Director, Group Sourcing provides strategic support to the Head of Group Sourcing in driving key initiatives. This role is critical to achieving the board directed goal of scaling group sourcing by 10x, through expanding sourcing capability, increasing participation and spend, delivering cost savings, and creating synergistic value across member operators, while building readiness for future leadership.

Key Qualifications
A. Formal Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related fields.
• Professional procurement certification (e.g., CIPS, ISM) preferred.
B. Knowledge
• Strong knowledge of group sourcing and procurement in a telco or telecom group environment.
• Proven track record in GFA adoption and execution, including driving adoption across multi-entity procurement teams.
• Strong understanding of sourcing within telco categories: network (fixed & mobile), transmission, IT, devices, platforms, and 5G.
• Expertise in procurement methodologies, including reverse auctions, forward bidding, and e-sourcing tools (e.g., Ariba).
• Strategic thinking with ability to translate strategies into actionable sourcing plans.
C. Relevant Work Experience
• 10+ years of procurement experience, with at least 3-5 years in group or centralized procurement within a telecom operator group or alliance.
• Demonstrated leadership in running multi-operator tenders, category strategies, and vendor negotiations.
• Experience engaging with senior stakeholders across multiple business units or operators.
• Exposure to implementing Group Framework Agreements (GFA) and driving organizational alignment and adoption.
• Experience working in a matrix, multi-cultural environment across regional stakeholders.
D. Computer Literacy Skills
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI for data analysis and reporting.
• Familiarity with procurement systems, e-sourcing platforms, and dashboards.
E. Soft Skills (including behavioural and attitudes)
• Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills across diverse teams and cultures.
• Strategic mindset with attention to detail and operational rigor.
• Proactive, self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Collaborative and adaptable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Starting salary will be commensurate with the years of work experience.

Key Responsibilities
Stakeholder and Partner Engagement
- Partner with BMO Heads of Procurement and business stakeholders to identify and shape group sourcing opportunities aligned with their procurement needs and business priorities.
- Serve as a trusted ambassador on sourcing strategies, procurement best practices, and GFA adoption to maximize participation and value realization.
- Support and/or lead workshops, stakeholder reviews, and sourcing forums to align on sourcing plans, requirements, and execution.
Category and Sourcing Strategy Development
- Collaborate with the Head of Group Sourcing to define and refine category strategies across network, IT, devices, and emerging domains
- Conduct spend analysis, benefit modeling, and market benchmarking to inform sourcing strategies.
- Facilitate demand aggregation across BMOs to formulate optimal tender strategies covering volume leverage, pricing, tendering approach, and award scenarios.
Group Tender and GFA Execution
- Lead or co-lead group tenders and sourcing activities, ensuring execution excellence across procurement processes.
- Drive and support negotiation of group framework agreements, working closely with BMO stakeholders and vendors to achieve win-win outcomes.
- Monitor and accelerate GFA adoption across BMOs, identifying barriers to implementation and proactively addressing them with solutions.
- Provide oversight on tender milestones, compliance with governance frameworks, and effective communication with stakeholders and suppliers.
Vendor Management and Market Insights
- Cultivate relationships with key vendors and their regional leadership to strengthen collaboration, gather market intelligence, and optimize commercial outcomes.
- Provide market insights, price benchmarking, and supplier performance analysis to inform sourcing decisions and negotiations.
Procurement Process and Governance
- Support continuous improvement of procurement processes, policies, and reporting frameworks to ensure compliance, transparency, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with the Head of Group Sourcing to enhance procurement dashboards and KPIs to monitor savings, participation, and sourcing performance.
