Executive Summary

The Head of Compensation & Benefits, Asia & China Regions will be responsible for leading, developing, reviewing, and executing C&B initiatives, processes, and policies implementation, as well as ongoing oversight of C&B framework within Asia & China Regions (houses around 4,000 headcounts). This encompasses 12 countries, namely Singapore, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, The Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan. Key projects would include the launch of a HR Transformation project in the region focusing on reinforcing global tools and processes via design and implementation of HR Services delivery platforms alongside the HR Shared Services team. The role also oversees and ensures cost efficiencies in the Regions while ensuring employee engagement. This role is a leadership position based in Singapore and with direct reports. The incumbent will need to partner with HR stakeholders and provide advice for areas of improvement, review policies, and enhance processes.

Job Responsibilities
  • Define a fair, equitable and competitive total compensation and benefits package that fits and is aligned with the company's strategy and business goals in the region.
  • Manage the development, implementation and administration of compensation and benefits programs for the Asia and China regions following Group policies.
  • Design, develop and drive relevant HR policies, including partnering with Group HR on the improvement of current policies.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation and benefits practices and recommend changes that are cost-effective, consistent with market trends and corporate objectives and compliant with local legislations.
  • Support and coordinate the remuneration processes for the region in collaboration with the HRBPs and related stakeholders.
  • Determine that prevailing pay rates and benefits are competitive to the market.
  • Manage job grading and benchmark processes according to Group guidelines.
  • Drive annual salary budget planning and salary review process ensuring regional alignment and a defensible budget.
  • Lead or participate into HR projects whenever is required. E.g. M&A, carve out, integration, sales force ROI, etc.
  • Represents the Asia and China regions in all matters relating to Compensation and Benefits and acts as the main liaison with the Group and Business Lines.

Ideal Requirements
  • Degree with 8-10 years of professional compensation & benefits experience with both tactical and operational skills. Working experience with Workday will be advantageous.
  • Experience in total rewards management, including compensation, benefits, recognition, and wellness programs.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing successful total rewards strategies in a complex organisational environment with multiple business lines.
  • Good understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices related to compensation and benefits.
  • Analytical and strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Good interpersonal skills, able to work as a team and engage key stakeholders.
  • Agility in being both tactical and hands-on operational and embrace change with a keen eye towards value creation both to the Company and to employees.
  • Asia regional compensation & benefits experience will be advantageous.
  • Team management is essential to the role.
  • Project Management experience to lead on changes.

  • Houses over 350 engineers locally at the Engineering Competence Centre to develop products across all of the Digital Identity & Security businesses

Research, Technology & Innovation
  • Runs a Research & Technology (R&T) centre with the aim of complementing and leveraging Singapore's strong eco-system as a research and development hub
  • Houses an Innovation Hub on-site to engage local and regional customers and partners in user-centered innovation, enabling cross-functional collaborations in co-designing, prototyping and testing of new concepts
  • Developed strategic academic partnerships, via joint labs housed at Nanyang Technological University, to foster research in nanotechnologies as well as contribute new concepts and technologies for systems used on micro and nano-satellites
  • Established a Digital Factory in Singapore to accelerate innovation and digital transformation for the Group and its customers in the region
