ROLE: HSQE Specialist - Permanent

Job Description

The role involves supporting the HSQE Department in ensuring that vessels are consistently equipped with an up-to-date Safety Management System (SMS) and that necessary follow-ups are carried out as required with regards to documentation. The individual will be responsible for ensuring the upkeeping of Safety Management System, relevant certification and documentation of the assigned ships and act as a liaison between the Company and onboard personnel. This includes monitoring safety and pollution prevention aspects of vessel operations and ensuring that adequate resources and shore-based support are provided as needed. The position reports directly to the HSQE Director.

Responsibilities

• To distribute new and revisions to Safety Management System after approval though ABS NS and update designated share folders.
• Budget and invoicing - Assist in preparation of budget for the Department, issue of PO and invoice processing, as applicable.
• Update revision log and indexes as applicable.
• To assist in management of assigned projects when applicable.
• To track feedback loop for Safety Performance reports (along with MR) and acknowledgment for all revisions to the safety management system and circulars.
• Flag State - Regulations - Circulars - as applicable.
• Environment performance data collation.
• To collate all data related to KPIs and assist in Management Review report preparation.
• EGA contacts update (Owner's contact update as per office emergency procedures).
• To assist in preparing presentations and update of KPI data as and when required.
• Marine vessel distribution and fleet list update Ishima.
• Assist in the Takeover of vessels for Posters, Circulars etc. as per the MoC.
• Other tasks as assigned by the Line Manager.

Education & Experience:

• Min Diploma in any discipline
• Prior experience in a Shipping company is a plus
• Fresh Graduates are welcome to apply

Skills / Competencies:

• Able to meet tight deadlines.
• Must be proficient in software applications, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Resourceful, meticulous, well-organized and ability to work independently.
• Confident and comfortable with handling confidential information.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Possess a mature personality with interpersonal and organizational skills.
