NEWRI was established to address Singapore's environmental and water challenges through our Research-Engineering-Development (RED) approach. Our researchers perform fundamental research, translate through robust Engineering to produce innovative solutions, and work with industrial and institutional partners, towards their Deployment to enhance Singapore's global standing and attract investment.

Job Description:

• Provide effective equipment training and guidance on equipment operation and data analysis to users for analytical instruments such as GC, LC, ICP-OES and GCMS etc.
• Prepare and update training materials, SOP and risk assessment for new instruments.
• Implement regular maintenance and conduct troubleshooting for instruments. Liaise with vendors for support when needed.
• Purchases of supplies and annual preventive maintenance service contracts related to instruments.
• Support researchers and external partners in sample preparation, method development and sample testing.
• Assist the assistant director in procurement of new instruments to ensure a cutting-edge status.
• Assist the assistant director for necessary administrative work.

Job Requirements:

• Min. a recognized Bachelor Degree in Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Engineering or related disciplines.
• Possess min. 1 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge and experience on operation, data analysis, sample preparation and method development of analytical instruments GC, GC-MS and ICP-OES is a plus.
• Knowledge of sample preparation and method development is a plus.
• A good team player.
• Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated and pro-active.
• Well-developed prioritization, time management and multi-tasking skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective interpersonal relationships at all levels.
• Ability to adapt in a matrix structure and in a constantly changing environment.
