Job Description & Requirements

As a Baking and Packing Assistant, you will be responsible for the daily packing and preparation of bakery goods to desatch to customers, by ensuring that all products are baked and packed to perfection, consistent with the company's quality standards. This is an entry-level position with opportunities for growth, where you will develop foundational baking skills and contribute to the overall success of the bakery team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Production: Pick, Pack and Prepare a variety of bakery items including breads and cookies
• Follow standardized packing requirements and instructions to ensure product consistency and quality.
• Monitor packaging quality.

Order Fulfilment:

• Assist Shift Leader with the daily order fulfilment (includes slicing and packing breads)
• Assist with any adhoc duties assigned
• Ingredient Preparation: Measure, mix, and prepare dough, batters, fillings, glazes, and toppings as directed.
• Assist with scaling and mixing ingredients according to recipes and production needs.

Quality Control:

• Inspect products during and after baking to ensure quality standards are met in terms of taste, texture, and appearance.
• Notify the Shift Leader of any issues related to product quality.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Ensure work areas, machinery, and equipment are clean, organized and adhere to applicable safety rules and housekeeping requirements.
• Ensure that food handling and hygiene regulations are followed in accordance with standards.

Assist bakers and other team members in various tasks as needed.

Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for product improvement or new items.

Provide support to the Head Baker in special projects and new product testing when required.

Monitor ingredient stock levels and notify the Shift Leader of any shortages or needs for restocking.

Assist in receiving, unpacking, and storing bakery ingredients and supplies in a timely and organized manner.
