Job Description

The Signature Research Programme in Cardiovascular and Metabolic Disorders ("CVMD") houses state-of-the-art technologies for profiling mitochondrial function and metabolic adaptations in human patients and other model organisms, and undertakes translational and clinical research in cardiovascular and metabolic disorders.

The successful candidate will perform a variety of functions related to research under the supervision of the Programme Director, including but not limited to the following: -

• Lead and direct a team of researchers to conduct high quality scientific research.
• Plan, conduct and disseminate research findings through journal articles.
• Write and review research papers, present research outcomes, conceptualise new ideas and develop plans for independent research which could have a considerable influence and impact on the relevant field attracting research funding.
• Apply qualitative and quantitative research techniques which include accurate in-depth assessment, interpretation and evaluation of research outcomes.
• Develop external funding for the research project.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior researchers, graduate and/or undergraduate students.
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described therein.

Job Requirements

• PhD with at least 6 years of relevant experience as an accomplished researcher.
• Possess in-depth technical knowledge of major scientific area.
• Demonstrated capability in driving research initiatives with international recognition of research contributions.
• Proven track record of academic publications and award recognitions.
• Consistent record of service with ability to manage and direct the research efforts of others.
• Possess excellent written and communication skills with strong writing and critical thinking skills.
• Proven ability to work harmoniously in a team and to establish and maintain effective professional peer.
