Job Title: Form Teacher - Permanent Part-time (8am to 11.30am)

Job Description:

The Nursery Form Teacher is responsible for leading the holistic development, learning, and care of a class of 3- to 4-year-old children during one session (morning or afternoon). The teacher plans, implements, and evaluates developmentally appropriate curriculum experiences, fosters a nurturing classroom environment, and partners closely with families to support children's growth in alignment with the centre's values and ECDA regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver daily lessons and learning experiences that promote children's physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual development.
  • Create and maintain a safe, engaging, and age-appropriate classroom environment.
  • Observe, assess, and document children's learning progress regularly using appropriate methods (e.g., learning stories, portfolios).
  • Manage classroom routines and transitions smoothly (e.g., arrival, snack, toileting, dismissal).
  • Establish warm, respectful, and responsive relationships with children.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about children's progress, concerns, and centre activities.
  • Collaborate with assistant teachers, other form teachers, and the leadership team to ensure consistency and quality in care and teaching.
  • Prepare learning materials, displays, and teaching resources.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and centre events.
  • Adhere to all ECDA, SPARK, and centre policies, including child safety and well-being standards.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education - Teaching (DECCE-T) or equivalent recognised by ECDA.
  • Must be ECDA-certified as L2 Early Childhood Educator.
  • At least 1 year of teaching experience with preschool-age children (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Strong understanding of child development theories and early childhood pedagogy (including knowledge of Singapore's NEL Framework and SPARK Quality Rating Scale expectations).
  • Ability to design differentiated learning to meet the diverse needs of young children.
  • Good spoken and written communication skills in English and Chinese.
  • Commitment to nurturing children's love for learning in a faith-based environment for Catholic preschools.
  • First Aid certification for preschoolers (preferred).
  • Responsible, caring, creative, and collaborative.
