The antimicrobial peptide chemistry group, led by Professor Zvi Hayouka, has world-leading expertise in multiple research areas, such as peptide chemistry, peptide modifications, microbiology, antimicrobial peptides design and synthesis, solid phase chemistry, peptide bacterial binders, and biosensing. We are looking to hire a Research Fellow. The candidate should adapt to new peptide synthesis and discovery techniques and support the surface assembly processes of the lead peptides, antimicrobial assays development, and electrochemical studies efforts led by the other partners in the consortia. The candidate shall work under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, who will be most of the time via remote supervision, to conduct research work as follows:

Key Responsibilities:
- Collects and prepare data/ information/ proposal required for relevant grant call process
- Conducts experiments related to the synthesis and characterization of peptide bacterial binders or antimicrobial peptides
- Assists in interpreting and applying processes and procedures to conduct/monitor project progress
- Gathers information/ data and prepare documents for reporting/ papers
- Assists in and delivers training and coaching new members with relevant laboratory/ technical skills
- Report remotely to the PI and travel to Israel for training
Job Requirements:
- Ph.D. degree in Peptide Chemistry/Microbiology
- Strong experimental skills, especially in peptide chemistry and mainly in the design of antimicrobial peptides and characterize their antimicrobial and selectivity profile.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills while hard-working and able to meet tight deadlines
- Able to work independently in gathering information/ data and preparing documents for reporting/ papers
- Willing to contribute to team services like sharing/ coaching new members with relevant laboratory/ technical skills
