Role Summary:

The Pastor for the Indonesian Helpers Ministry will provide pastoral care, spiritual leadership, and community engagement for Indonesian domestic helpers attending the Indonesian ministry of Solomon's Porch Singapore (the church). This role includes preaching, teaching, discipling, and organizing gatherings that cater to the unique needs of this community, helping them grow in their faith and feel welcomed and supported.

Key Responsibilities:

Pastoral Care & Spiritual Oversight

• Maintain and care for the lives of the Indonesian ministry, providing ongoing pastoral care, counselling, and prayer.
• Shepherd the community with love and sensitivity, especially as they navigate challenges related to work and separation from family.
• Lead weekly Indonesian-language worship services or gatherings.
• Preach biblically grounded, relevant sermons and teach God's Word faithfully.
• Coordinate every spiritual activity (e.g., small groups, discipleship, prayer meetings) to support the ministry's spiritual growth and well-being.

Community Engagement & Integration

• Build relationships with new and existing members to create a welcoming and supportive community.
• Foster good communication and a healthy relationship between Solomon's Porch Singapore (SPSG) and SPIN (the Indonesian congregation).
• Organize social events and special celebrations (e.g., outings, birthdays, special events).

Volunteer Leadership & Development

• Recruit, equip, and mentor volunteers from within the Indonesian congregation.
• Raise up new leaders to serve and eventually disciple others in the community.

Administration & Church Coordination

• Plan and coordinate all logistics for ministry gatherings.
• Ensure alignment with the broader vision and rhythm of church life.
• Attend pastoral team meetings and provide regular updates on the ministry.

Qualifications:

1. Has the heart and skills of a shepherd-caring, discerning, and servant-hearted.
2. Fluent in both Bahasa Indonesia and English to ensure effective communication between the main church and Indonesian ministry. The candidate must be able to preach in Bahasa Indonesia.
3. Has experience in study and/or ministry outside of Indonesia, with an understanding of cross-cultural contexts.
4. Prior ministry or theological training preferred (formal), with minimum of 3 years of pastoral experience.
5. Able to work both independently and as part of a larger church team.
