Main Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Affiliate Safety Disease Area Communities (ASDACs)
  • Lead the DA community, prioritizing demands and creating work packages to address them, as needed.
  • Accountable for the outcomes (performance) of the ASDACs and active engagement of Patient Safety Leads and/or Partners that are members of the ASDAC.
  • Serve as the primary contact connecting the affiliates to the global functions (e.g., CSC and PDMA).
  • When required, provide support to resolve complex, urgent, and/or sensitive safety information concerns as they emerge.
  • Maintain a central repository of ongoing and completed initiatives.

Safety Insights
  • Effectively collaborates and leads cross-functional teams (e.g., ASDACs), enabling the organization to proactively, consistently, and efficiently share data, information, and insights to respond to safety needs across different customer touchpoints.
  • Ensure affiliate safety needs and insights are communicated to and understood by global functions, allowing them to integrate affiliate insights into global product strategy.
  • Ensure global functions' insights/strategies are communicated to and understood by Affiliate Patient Safety (APS) teams.
  • Leverages the ASDAC to generate safety insights that address inquiries and information needs from global functions.

Safety Launch Readiness
  • Drive product safety launch readiness activities, in close collaboration with cross-functional teams and Affiliate Patient Safety (APS).
  • Leverage the ASDACs to inform risk management planning and prepare supportive documents prior to launch to enable the optimal implementation of patient safety risk management in the affiliates
  • Maintain a deep understanding of current and anticipated safety needs within assigned products/disease areas.

Safety Solutions
  • Leverage the ASDACs and/or dedicated work packages to generate safety solutions that address safety needs or build internal capabilities
  • Ensure the timely and effective delivery of cross-country and cross-functional safety solutions to be integrated into clinical practice.
  • Continuously measure and monitor the value and impact the safety solutions bring to patients, society, and Roche.
  • Leverage existing solutions and scale them based on local and global customers' needs and potential impact on clinical practice.

Compliance and Ethical Standards
  • Responsible for acting in line with legal, regulatory, and company standards and codes of practice (such as Roche Code of Conduct and any other Roche directives and guidelines) including all local country policies related to HCP engagement.
  • Demonstrate high ethical standards and the ability to exemplify Roche Values and Leadership Commitments.


Qualifications and Skills

Academic Background:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science or a related field is required.
  • MD/PharmD/PhD in life sciences preferred.

Professional Experience:
  • A minimum of 5 years in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry or related experience expected, preferably in positions related to Pharmacovigilance, Clinical Safety, Clinical Science, or Medical Affairs.
  • In-depth understanding of pharmacovigilance, patient safety risk management activities, medical compliance and healthcare compliance at the country level expected.
  • Significant understanding of drug development as well as Roche's current portfolio and future pipeline is highly desirable.
  • Relevant understanding of local ecosystems, including regulatory and payer environments as well as patient journey pathways is highly desirable
  • Proven ability to work in a matrix setting as a decisive leader epitomizing VACC leadership, Roche Values, and inclusive leadership behaviors.

  • Strong problem-solving skills: demonstrated ability to anticipate and solve problems.
  • Ability to promote and role-model integrity and compliance with internal and external regulations.
  • Complete fluency in the English language expected.
