In this role, P&O plays an essential position in supporting and enabling local hospital management and associates to cultivate a working environment where talent will be drawn to join, stay, and grow. This means establishing trusted partnerships with MVH Singapore hospital leadership and associates to cultivate a welcoming and supportive community and to establish programs that prioritize the growth, development, and well-being of MVH Associates in Singapore.
The Role
Partner with MVH Singapore hospital leadership to support the full cycle of associate experience in MVH hospitals in Singapore - onboarding, performance management, associate engagement, relations and separations. Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars (Quality, responsibility, mutuality, efficiency, freedom) and Associate Concept throughout the whole cycle.
In Business Partnership and Advisory capacity, lead hospitals top people priorities - i.e. leadership coaching and capabilities, workforce and talent planning, health & wellbeing, total rewards, Mars signature programs development etc.

The Role
Partner with MVH Singapore hospital leadership to support the full cycle of associate experience in MVH hospitals in Singapore - onboarding, performance management, associate engagement, relations and separations. Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars (Quality, responsibility, mutuality, efficiency, freedom) and Associate Concept throughout the whole cycle.
- Complete associate onboarding to ensure that each associate feels welcome and has a positive experience;
- Ensure that our workforce is treated fairly and reasonably at all times by helping associates to resolve conflicts and dealing with a myriad of complex personnel management situations. Respond to associate concerns to ensure that every member of the team feels "heard" and well-treated;
- Conduct workplace investigations;
- Cultivate a community of MVH hospitals that promotes continuous learning and improvement representing a destination of choice for veterinary professionals in Singapore;
- Co - Lead annual and on-going P&O processes i.e. compensation reviews and performance reviews, system implementation (Infotech & Workday) in collaboration with the hospital's leadership team;
- Serve as P&O Point of Contact for all Associate Relations matters;
- Partner with hospital leadership with respect to corrective action and separations;
- Hold structured exit interviews to gather valuable insights from departing associates, identify improvement areas, and ensure a smooth transition for exited associates
In Business Partnership and Advisory capacity, lead hospitals top people priorities - i.e. leadership coaching and capabilities, workforce and talent planning, health & wellbeing, total rewards, Mars signature programs development etc.
- Educate and advise hospital management and staff on the importance of our culture and how they can incorporate The Five Principles into daily activities and decision making.
- Support MVH hospital leadership to ensure that the team is well cast, with the right talent in the right roles;
- Develop the team for bench strength and succession planning;
- Guide hospital leaders on best practices, as well as hospital guidelines and company policies;
- Ensure that team members have a strong understanding of total rewards enhancements and healthcare eligibility;
- Incorporate the use of people analytics to provide insights for workforce planning, performance management, and engagement strategies
- Support training and development of hospital team, including leadership training for hospital teams;
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining business networks; and participating in professional organizations;
- Demonstrate ability to understand how the hospital operates to implement the right solutions;
- Educate and advise management on the importance of culture and how they can incorporate The Five Principles into daily activities and decision making;
- Partner with MVH regional P&O Director and P&O Lead, deploy Mars signature programs (i.e. Introduction to the Essence of Mars, Associate Survey, Make The Difference, Associate Development plans, Great Line Management etc.) at the right timing for hospitals
- Promote a diverse and inclusive workplace by implementing programs that celebrate differences and ensure equal opportunities for all associates.
- Expand health and wellbeing initiatives to include mental health support, stress management initiatives, and wellness activities tailored to the unique challenges of veterinary professionals
- Develop, implement, and oversee training programs to ensure associates are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge for high-quality patient care and operational excellence . Collaborate with leadership to manage the HR budget, monitor expenditures, and align financial planning with the hospital's overall strategic objectives

The Ideal Candidate
- The candidate must be hands - on, comfortable in a fast pace working environment, being approachable and the 'listener' from hospital associates and generate insights to enhance workplace engagement. Associate Relationship experience is a must.
- The candidate must be self - motivated and able to work without direct supervision.
- S/he will have the ability to deliver consistent results by creating strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
- The successful candidate will have excellent change management skills, combined with the ability to manage concurrent priorities and tasks.
- In addition to being a skilled communicator, s/he will need to have experience influencing others in an advisory capacity.
- Bachelor and above degree holder.
- Strong knowledge of Singapore local labour laws and regulations.
- Minimally 6 years of experience in HR Generalist role and dealing with employee relations matters.
- Prior experience in service industry partnering front facing employees is necessary (human health, veterinary health, retail, hospitality, F&B is preferred).
- Fluent English. Mandarin is a plus.
- Demonstrated competence in accurately and successfully advising managers on complex HR matters.
- Affection and comfort with dogs and cats, and other animals preferred.
