Job Role:
  • A Public Relations Officer (Construction) typically handles public communication and relationship management for construction projects, including managing public feedback, addressing complaints, and ensuring positive relationships with stakeholders. They also prepare and distribute public notices, plan outreach activities, and arrange meetings with project teams on PR matters.
  • A PRO (Construction) usually stations at the project site.

Job Responsibilities:

Public Relations Programme:

Implementing and coordinating public relations initiatives aligned with project objectives, including advance notices, updates, and information dissemination.

Public Engagement:

Responding to public inquiries, feedback, and complaints, ensuring timely resolution of issues.

Stakeholder Communication:

Building and maintaining positive relationships with residents, businesses, and other stakeholders, including arranging site visits to address concerns.

Information Dissemination:

Preparing and distributing advance notices, pamphlets, and other publicity materials to inform the public about construction impacts.

Reporting and Documentation:

Preparing monthly reports summarising feedback, complaints, and actions taken, as well as tracking and following up on public feedback until closure.

Meeting Coordination:

Arranging and participating in meetings with project teams on public relations matters.

Site Visits and Inspections:

Conducting site visits to address public concerns and organising defect inspections.

Other Duties:

Performing other public relations responsibilities as assigned by management.

Job requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Public Relations within the Built Environment industry.
  • Advanced/Specialist/Diploma/Certificate in Public Relations Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) Certificate in Service Excellence (Level 1) Certification, or equivalent
  • PC literate and knowledgeable in MS Office
  • Good presentation, communication & interpersonal skills
  • Able to speak and write well
  • Positive and good working attitude, self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Candidates must be willing to work in a construction project site office environment
