Responsibilities:
  • Discuss and coordinate lay out plans for Module fabrication, equipment (welding sets and gas pallets), crane movement pathways and module shifting.
  • Liaise with Project Manager and planning engineer and understand the requirement of the project schedules. Expedite the site fabrication and installation works with the respective supervisors/ engineers in achieving targeted progress.
  • Highlight and discuss short comings in project execution with Project Manager for advice.
  • Review updated progress reports for necessary guidance and actions with the project team. To plan for two weeks look ahead for the activities to be completed as per the schedule.
  • Review and endorse the manpower records provided by the sub-contractors for the additional works carried out under Site instructions. To review and certify sub-con monthly progress claims.
  • Prepare method statements of structural document submission on project basis.
  • Attend weekly client, sub-contractor and other project related meetings and brief the project teams.
  • Liaise with engineering regarding drawing and site discrepancies for trouble shooting of fabrication matters.
  • Participate in sub-contractor and Company worker performance assessment and appraisal activities.
  • Plan scaffolding erection and de-staging activities for all trades to follow-up.
  • Manage, organize and plan activities to ensure smooth execution of projects in the Department.
  • Meet and brief the team of the respective Projects to be executed for the schedule/plan date, all requirements and expectations (safety, quality and productivity) prior to commencing.
  • Set Milestone target dates for the team.
  • Ensure that manpower is effectively deployed to deliver the products timely.
  • Ensure that manpower is adequately trained and qualifies to perform jobs and to meet future challenges.
  • Evaluate and assess the work performance of staff
  • Resolve any technical problems or issues faced at the work site.
  • Settle technical issues on site including with Clients and Company Engineering Department inclusive of any TQ to be raised by Engineering Department.
  • Study and evaluate the work sequences and methods of the Department and explore new ideas to improve quality and productively.
  • Ensure that Safety, Health and Environment operating procedures are followed and counsel staff about compliance as necessary.
  • Accountable for the team and sub-contractor HSE - housekeeping issues, safety (safety behavior, culture, work practices) and their personal disciplines.
  • Ensure that jobs outsourced to sub-contractor are effectively supervised and the products are delivered timely and in accordance to the required specifications and quality.
  • Lay out plans for site/Modules storage of materials/off cuts, equipment (welding sets and gas pallets), crane pathways/movements.
  • Attend meeting - clients and management when required.
  • Prepare the respective team duty roster for all staff.
  • Overall performance ratings for all the personnel in the Team including sub-contractor.
  • Review all submitted documents from the team prior approval and submit accordingly.
  • Any other ad-hoc duties being assigned by your Superior.

Job Requirements:
  • Diploma/Bachelor' Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 10 years of working experience in Marine Shipyard or Oil & Gas Industry is a must.
  • Adaptable to fast paced work environment, able to work under pressure, able to finish assigned work on time
  • Able to interact with people of all levels and teamwork
