NTI-NTU Corporate Laboratory is a collaboration between Nanofilm Technologies International Limited ("Nanofilm", "NTI"), Nanyang Technological University ("NTU") and supported by Singapore under RIE2025. The Laboratory's objective is to propel Innovation and Technologies commercialisation through NTU's innovation and NTI's deep technology. NTI-NTU Corporate Laboratory aligns with Singapore's RIE2025 handbook - which emphasises the nation's commitment to research and innovation, aiming to drive economic growth and address national challenges.

The Nanyang Technological University NTI-NTU Corporate Laboratory is seeking to hire a Project Officer. The selected candidate will innovate hybridized composite materials and thin film coatings.

Key responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough literature review and generate periodic updates.
  • Assist in setting up and conducting experiments according to research protocols.
  • Carry out assays and analysis to optimize and control functional performance (e.g. coating thickness, uniformity, assess effectiveness of active agent delivery, degradation profile, mechanical strength etc.)
  • Carry out biochemical and biological assays to assess bioavailability and cytotoxicity of the developed products.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all aspects of the research work.
  • Manage logistical issues, including laboratory inventory, track supplies and procurement.
  • Support coordination and communication within the multidisciplinary team and with external collaborators.
  • Assist with the preparation of periodic progress reports as required by the funding agency.
  • Disseminate research results in reputable peer-reviewed journals and/or international conferences

Job Requirements
  • Academic Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Materials Science/Chemistry/Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field from a recognized institution.
  • Experience with biomaterials, thin film coatings, and basic material characterization techniques (e.g., TEM, XRD, FTIR).
  • Familiarity with osteogenesis-relevant assays and mammalian cell culture (preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a diverse, interdisciplinary research environment.
  • Ability to take initiative to improve processes and troubleshoot problems.
  • Good communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and coordinate tasks across teams with minimal supervision.
