Senior Counsellor/ Social Worker (SPIN) - Part-Time

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Senior Counsellor/Social Worker (SPIN) is responsible for overseeing the case work team and SPIN Counsellors. The role includes provision of case work supervision and counselling services in adherence to the approved service model and Theory of Change (TOC).
The objective of SPIN is to help single parents with little social support to improve their quality of Life and enhance their ability to care for their children. SPIN provides a one stop care including Counselling services to strengthen their emotional health.
The staff serves as the professional lead, setting and monitoring compliance with professional standards for supervised employees. The staff is also responsible for reviewing and updating the centre's clinical and counselling guidelines, related protocols, or policies. Additionally, the staff develops Counselling support in SPIN, which includes leading and providing clinical group supervision to a team of volunteers and interns.
WORKING HOURS
Regular office working hours, part time three days a week . Flexibility is required for occasional work on weekends when needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage a team of volunteer counsellors, ensuring their quality service deliverables.
- Provide clinical supervision for the staff and volunteer counsellors in SPIN.
- Research, develop and review framework and processes in optimizing programme efficacy and enhancing clinical practice.
- Actively involved in community networking and building collaborations with stakeholders.
- Support HOP in management statistical reports, community work and outreach, which include programme management, development and evaluation.
- Groupwork and workshop facilitation when required.
CASEWORK AND COUNSELLING
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of Social Work and Counselling practice and procedures as set by Singapore Association of Social Workers (SASW), Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC) and provide advice on current and potential position in relation to them.
- Ensures high quality service provision by systematically monitoring sessions conducted, reading case notes, analysing pre-post surveys and feedback from clients about their experience of counselling sessions. Collecting data for both qualitative & quantitative outcomes.
- Developing and ensuring all clinical policies & procedures are up to date and reviewed annually.
- Planning and provision of monthly clinical support group for the volunteer and intern counsellors to enhance practice.
- Establish best practices for the provision of case work and Counselling with the clientele group SPIN. Develop sharing content with other SSAs to contribute to the larger sector.
- Build network and collaboration with other social service agencies to support the clients.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Master's degree in counselling and/or social work.
- Must be an accredited member of SAC and/or SASW.
- At least 7 years of direct practice experience and 3 years of supervisory experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Knowledge of social service sector in Singapore, the policies & resources for single parents.
- Has strong understanding of the diverse cultures and races.
- Possesses IT skills necessary to utilise CRM in case management.
- Ability to engage stakeholders and community partners.
