As they continue to navigate an evolving legal and regulatory landscape, they are now seeking a Legal Manager to provide expert legal advice and ensure compliance with financial regulations. The Legal Manager will be responsible for providing legal guidance on corporate, regulatory, and transactional matters. The role requires strong expertise in financial services law, contract negotiation, and risk management. The ideal candidate will have experience in banking, asset management, or financial technology, with a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

Regulatory & Compliance Advisory:

• Provide legal support on regulatory matters, including banking, securities, and financial regulations.
• Ensure compliance with local and international financial laws, including AML/CFT, GDPR, and data protection regulations.
• Liaise with regulators and advise on licensing, reporting, and governance matters.

Contract Review & Negotiation:

• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including client agreements, vendor contracts, and financing arrangements.
• Support the structuring of financial transactions, mergers, and acquisitions from a legal perspective.
• Ensure agreements comply with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.

Risk Management & Dispute Resolution:

• Identify legal risks and provide strategic solutions to mitigate them.
• Handle disputes, litigation, and arbitration processes in coordination with external counsel.
• Support internal investigations and compliance audits.

Corporate Governance & Policy Development:

• Assist in drafting and updating internal policies related to corporate governance and legal compliance.
• Advise senior management and business units on legal best practices.
• Support board meetings, corporate resolutions, and regulatory filings.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law (LL.B / LL.M) from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in corporate law, financial services law, or regulatory compliance.
• Experience in banking, asset management, fintech, or capital markets preferred.
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations, contract law, and corporate governance.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Admission to the bar (or equivalent legal qualification) in the relevant jurisdiction.
