The Translational Biophotonics Laboratory (TBL) at A*STAR Skin Research Labs (A*SRL), A*STAR positions itself in developing next-gen Medtech solutions for national healthcare priorities. OLIVO Lab is currently looking for a Scientist to work on a cutting-edge AI for skin imaging and sensing project, as well as other relevant biophotonics projects.

Job scope:

• Develop AI models for enhanced skin imaging and sensing technologies like Photoacoustic imaging and Raman spectroscopy
• Hardware development of optical systems like Photoacoustic imaging system, hyperspectral system and Raman spectroscopy system
• Work with researchers from different groups to deliver expected results
• Develop novel image analysis algorithms for skin image interpretation
• Prepare and review project status reports and ensure timely completion of study objectives
• Communicate with different stakeholders to come up with engineering solutions
• Present study concepts, experimental results, new findings to the management team and the research team members
• Write peer-reviewed papers, technical disclosures, contribute to grant writing and make slides for internal and external presentations

Job requirements:

• PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or relevant fields
• Familiar with AI models, AI assisted image reconstruction and analysis
• Have experience on AI algorithm development for image enhancement
• Proficient in Matlab, Python and/or LabVIEW programming, Solidworks, Zemax, ANSYS
• Good communication skills, writing skills and presentation skills
• Industry working experience would be an added advantage
• Need to work closely with industry partners to commercialize in-house developed technologies
