Role Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Human Rights Specialist to establish and lead our new Human Rights Department. This role will be instrumental in developing and implementing a comprehensive human rights strategy for our global operations, ensuring alignment with international standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Department Setup: Lead the establishment of the Human Rights Department, including the development of policies, procedures, and staffing.
2. Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive human rights strategy that aligns with our corporate values and international standards.
3. Risk Assessment: Conduct human rights risk assessments and due diligence processes across global operations.
4. Training and Capacity Building: Design and deliver training programs to educate employees on human rights issues and corporate policies.
5. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including internal teams, industry partners, NGOs, and government bodies.
6. Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and international standards. Prepare and present reports on human rights performance.
7. Incident Management: Oversee the investigation and resolution of human rights-related incidents.

Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Rights, Law, Social Sciences, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in human rights, preferably within the oil and gas or a related sector.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of international human rights standards and frameworks.
- Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills. Ability to work effectively in a global and multicultural environment.
- Languages: Proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus.
