The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day design, fabrication, optimization, and performance evaluation of non-contact microheating systems, with a focus on their integration into microfluidic platforms.

The School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) is seeking a motivated Project Officer to support the development and characterization of non-contact microheaters for lab-on-chip applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day design, fabrication, optimization, and performance evaluation of non-contact microheating systems, with a focus on their integration into microfluidic platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the overall progress and execution of the project.
- Handle all project-related procurement activities, including sourcing and purchasing.
- Provide regular updates and reports to the Principal Investigator (PI) on project status and milestones.
- Contribute to the preparation of scientific publications and technical reports for submission to funding agencies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in laboratory research.
- Strong specialization in autonomous systems and automation.
- Proven expertise in additive manufacturing, including 3D printing, microfluidic systems, process optimization, CAD design, machining, and mechanical testing.
- Advanced knowledge of Internet of Things (IoT) and embedded systems.
- Extensive background in microfluidics, biosystem integration, and algae cultivation and handling.
- Proficient in software tools such as Python, SolidWorks (CAD), Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Photoshop, and CorelDRAW.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English for research work.
