As an Assistant Underwriter in the Marine Department, you will be reporting into the HOD and support the Underwriters in underwriting of Marine business. You will be involved in evaluating, accepting or rejecting risk submissions in accordance with the company's underwriting guidelines.

In order to be successful, the ideal incumbent must have a positive and willing to learn attitude. Someone that works well with a sizable team and is able to work independently as an individual.

Skills and experience required

• Ideally 1+ years of general insurance or commercial lines experience
• Candidates with marine underwriting, underwriting support or marine claims may apply
• Strong analytical skills and ability to evaluate underwriting risks
• Strong business acumen, good understanding of marine business and passionate about maritime
• Strong relationship with intermediaries and brokers
• Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills
