Key responsibilities include:
- Curating outbreak datasets from around the world.
- Coordinating with data submitters to curate and annotate genome and metadata for rapid release.
- Engaging in interactive communication with submitters and users regarding usage and access-related queries.

Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the curation and annotation of genomes submitted to the platform alongside the curation team, including two trained and active staff members.
- Address user queries, manage, and update response templates related to data submission and metadata updates.
- Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and relevant documentation for curation processes.
- Coordinate with the technical development team regarding new features and prepare necessary documentation for the curation team.
- Facilitate coordination between curation teams to synchronize schedules between Asia and the Americas.
- Train and onboard new curators.
- Provide curation training and demonstrations in workshops.
- Monitor data trends and develop guidelines to maintain high-quality data standards.
Job Requirements:
- PhD or Master degree in Life Sciences, with a focus on virology, microbiology, biology, or public health epidemiology.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in Python and/or R, and familiarity with Unix/Linux (the candidate may need to run Linux command line programs as instructed by collaborating experts).
- Basic Bioinformatics or Computational Biology background.
- Understanding of Genomics and sequence analysis, including alignment and phylogenetic trees.
- Strong motivation to support significant public health initiatives.
