Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate closely with business units to identify, analyze, and mitigate legal risks associated with various business operations or documentation
  • Assist with strategic business footprint expansion efforts from a legal perspective
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of organization policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements. Effectively communicate policies to relevant stakeholders
  • Review, draft, and negotiate a diverse range of commercial and internal agreements, including but not limited to vendor contracts, client agreements, partnership agreements, new product contracts, employee performance contracts, and intra-company service agreements
  • Work in tandem with the Risk teams to interpret regulatory changes and address any inquiries from regulatory authorities, helping the Group maintain compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines
  • When necessary, assist in resolving legal disputes and manage litigation matters, and/or coordinating efforts with external counsel on such matters
  • Conduct legal research to support business growth
  • Stay abreast of pertinent legal and regulatory developments within the financial services sector across various jurisdictions
  • Assist in ad hoc legal matters such as mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and funding, outsourcing agreements, or other documents needed for the organization to operate effectively and grow
  • Advise where possible, opportunities for us to improve the client (internal/external) experience related to contracting or contract updates
  • Develop future talent both within the legal function as well as other departments

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Law or equivalent qualification
  • At least 8 years in a legal capacity within the financial services industry
  • Comprehensive knowledge of MAS regulations and compliance procedures, particularly in relation to the Payment Services Act (PSA), Securities and Futures Act (SFA), and Financial Advisers Act (FAA)
  • Proficiency in data protection and privacy laws, with the ability to apply legal frameworks to complex situations
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication capabilities to convey legal insights effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and work autonomously in high-pressure environments
  • Strong analytical skills to navigate regulatory complexities and provide practical solutions.
