PROJECT MANAGER (Industrial or Commercial Building Projects)

Our client is a respected Building & Civils contractor in Singapore, who often gets awarded projects off the back of their fine reputation for delivering on previous projects. They have a healthy pipeline of projects with tenders in place for more.

Job Summary:

The Project Manager will oversee and manage construction projects in the industrial and commercial building sectors. This role involves planning, coordinating, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the client's satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Project Planning and Coordination:

• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to determine project specifications.
• Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Obtain necessary permits and licenses from relevant authorities.

• Team Management:

• Lead and manage project teams, including subcontractors and vendors.
• Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring adherence to project goals and standards.

• Budget and Cost Management:

• Monitor project budgets and control costs to maximize profitability.
• Prepare and present financial reports to stakeholders.

• Quality and Safety Assurance:

• Ensure all construction activities comply with safety regulations and building codes.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality of work.

• Risk Management:

• Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans.
• Resolve any issues or delays that arise during the project.

• Client Communication:

• Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates and address concerns.
• Ensure client satisfaction by delivering projects that meet or exceed expectations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• PMP, LEED, or other relevant certifications are preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management within the industrial and commercial construction sectors in Singapore.
• Experience in Industrial Projects: Data Centres, Pharma, Logistics, Aviation, Semi-conductor, Clean rooms, Aerospace projects.
• Experience in Commercial Projects: Office, Shopping Centre, Greenfield Buildings.
• Strong understanding of project management principles and construction methodologies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to drive the site progress forward, calmness under pressure, and commercial awareness for the project.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.
• Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
