We are looking for a qualified patent attorney for our established and expanding patent practice.

Qualification

Candidates should have at least a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science, or related discipline.

Must have capability to handle a wide range of technologies in the software, artificial intelligence and engineering disciplines.

Qualified as a patent agent/attorney in Singapore. Candidates qualified in other jurisdictions such as Australia, UK, Europe, US may also apply.

Masters Degree or PhD would be an advantage.

Minimum 4 years PQE. Experience in the patent field is required.

Scope of work

Preparing freedom to operate and patentability searches

Advising on infringement and validity of patents, and patentability of inventions, and working with our litigation team.

Providing patent counselling including interviewing and interacting with inventors and clients

Drafting patent specifications

Handling filing and prosecution of patent applications including advising on written opinions and preparing responses

Assisting legal team in patent litigation and contract matters

Managing patent portfolios and building client relationships

Assist part-qualified agents as and when required

Methodical, meticulous with attention to detail

Good organisational skills

Able to multi-task and meet deadlines

The position requires strong writing and oral skills and clear thinking and strong English language skills.
