Safe and Strong Families - Reunification (SSF-R) Service
We are looking for passionate individuals committed to the cause of reunifying children and young persons who are in out-of-home care back to their families in a safe, timely and sustainable manner.
About the Role (Job Responsibilities)
Reporting to the Head, SSF-R, the incumbent will be responsible for the following key areas:
- Provide intensive, home-based intervention and support to CYPs and families.
- Conduct needs and risk assessment in accordance to the service framework.
- Develop appropriate reunification case plans that is inclusive of the CYP and family's opinions.
- Implement and follow up on case plans and interventions.
- Work with community stakeholders to address systemic barriers to reunification.
- Provide regular updates and reports to the interdisciplinary team to facilitate decision making on case plans for the clients.
- Develop tools and programs to support reunification work for CYPs and families.
Candidate Requirements
- Degree or Master in Social Work with minimum 2 years (or minimum Social Worker position) of related work experience in children, youth or family work.
- Demonstrates some understanding of reunification work, trauma and attachment theories, and child and adolescent development.
- A positive attitude with the ability to think out of the box.
- Ability to manage stress and crisis effectively while making calm and informed decisions.
- Receptive to feedback from others with a willingness to improve and grow oneself
- Good communication and interpersonal skills - able to work individually and within a team, relate easily to other people, particularly children, and form positive working relationships.
- Ability to communicate bilingually is a plus (English and Mother Tongue/Dialects)
- Willing to work after office hours as this is a 24/7 based service and flexibility in work arrangement is expected when need arises. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement.
