Job Purpose

The successful candidate will lead and manage a team to take charge of GCB/Sports & Lifestyle Sub-Committee.

The Manager will lead the department in the publicity needs of the Club internally and externally. Content and events developed by the department is supervised by the General Manager. Material produced is vetted by the General Manager, who acts as the Club's media liaison. The Manager also works closely with the GCB/Sports & Lifestyle, Sub-Committees.

The Manager oversees all the Sports & Lifestyle Section and facilities internally and externally. Sport Facilities includes Changing Room, Gym, Hot and Cold Pool, Swimming Pool, Bowling Alley, Billard Room, Outdoor Field and Sporting Courtyard and Satellite Sports Ground.

Job Responsibilities

Sports Section Management

1. Formulate and implement Department's plan, goals and strategies in line with corporate objectives

2. Supervise and oversee management of all sports sections and activities

3. Section's Liaison - Be the Club's Representative for Section hours/activities/events

4. Build rapport with Convenors, Sub Committee & Section Members

5. Ensure adequate knowledge of Club's Constitution, Bye Laws, Convenor's Handbook

6. Coordination with all other Departments, Personnels, Vendors, Authorities

7. Section's Administration - Accounts, Membership, Transaction, Statistics

8. Communications - Club, Section, Member, Conflict Management

Sports Academy

9. Sports Academy Marketing - vets and approves collateral to be displayed at the Club

10. Liaison with Partner/Vendor

11. Revenue Sharing/ Generating SURPLUS for SRC

12. Ensure proper Administration duties - Registration/Payment/Attendance/Guest Relations/Big

Data

Sports Events/Activities

13. Develops, implements, and adheres to Sports budget

14. Supervises and develops the content of printed and online media, including SRC Plasma screen, SRC website, and e-news bulletins, PR posters and advertisements, work closely with marketing department in relations to the publicity of the events

15. Ad-hoc writing of reports and publications for the Club, including souvenir magazines and the annual report

16. Lead and develops Sports members events organized by the department

17. Coordination with other Departments/Convenors/Sub Committee/Vendors/Members/Guests

18. Supporting Club & Other Departments' Events/Activities

Sports Facilities Management

19. Ensure sports facility is clean, safe and well-maintained at all times

20. Oversees maintenance and repairs of equipment, indoor and outdoor facility as needed

Plan and prepare advisories for members on scheduled maintenance and unscheduled

works

21. Lead team in Adherence to preventive maintenance schedules and ensure that corrective actions are taken promptly

22. Oversee service delivery and ensure compliance with contractual obligations by vendors

23. Overseas and manage the key system and facility booking system including performing

monthly audits to ensure accurate record

24. Conduct regular inventory audits and manage the disposal of inventory and assets as

needed

25. Oversee the detailed records of fulfil administrative and operational requirement

26. Implement safety protocols and emergency procedures to ensure the well-being of members

27. Manage and resolve members' request / feedback / complaints

Lifestyle Section Management

28. Formulate and implement department's plan, goals and strategies in line with corporate objectives.

29. Lead and oversee management of all sports and lifestyle sections activities

30. Plan, manage and control department annual budget.

31. Prepare timely management reports for General Manager / Lifestyle Chairman

32. Plan and organise lifestyle activities and events for members

33. Attend section meeting on behalf of the Club

34. Present regular department MC reports, variance reports, events calendar to update on Lifestyle activities

Others Scope Work

35. Ensure Customer Satisfaction

36. Attend GCB and section meetings on behalf of the Club

37. Work actively with GCB Chairman, Conveners and Sportsmen in achieving sporting excellence of the Club

38. Present regular department MC reports, variance reports, events calendar to update on S&R activities

39. Forecasts annual budget for department

40. Organizes event calendar for the department

41. Oversees the Corporate Communication with all stakeholders

42. Develops policies to enhance the efficiency of the communication and to further the building and maintaining of a positive corporate brand

43. Manage duty roster for the department

44. Does performance appraisals for all department staff

45. Manage Teams and/or Departments

46. Communicate common goals, direction and accountability among staff

47. Any other duties as assigned by the General Manager/Secretary

Develop staff by Coaching, Mentoring and Engaging Career Discussions

48. Exhibit effective performance management practices within department in accordance with organizational policies and procedures

49. Monitor budgets, forecasting, work allocations and staffing of the various departments, interview new staff

50. Instil discipline and provide training for staff

51. Handling all staffing responsibilities, including hiring and training. Review teams' learning and career development initiatives to align organisation's learning agenda

52. Set staff work schedules and monitor staff performance

Workplace safety and Health

53. Follow the workplace safety and health system, safe work procedures or safety rules implemented at the workplace

54. Not engage in any unsafe or negligent act that may endanger yourself or others working around you

55. Use personal protective equipment provided to you to ensure your safety while working. You must not tamper with or misuse the equipment

Requirements: -
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Communications or Sports Management related field
  • 5-10 years in Sports Events Management (Club)
  • Good knowledge of different business functions
  • Proven record of managing complex budgets successfully
  • Excellent communication, written and verbal and decision-making skills
  • Must be polished and articulate, and use these skills to manage members relationships.
  • Experienced working with staff on all levels
  • Ability to work unpredictable hours, including some evenings and weekends
  • Continuously focus on improving customer satisfaction to create customer loyalty and deliver a positive event experience
