The FairPrice Group Chain Business Unit (FPG SC BU) or Grocery Logistics of Singapore Pte Ltd (GLS) is a key logistics service provider to NTUC FairPrice Group and external customers. Our services provided include inbound logistics, warehouse and fulfilment and last mile delivery to the stores, customers and B2C home delivery.

Job Purpose

As part of our supply chain transformation effort, FairPrice Group Supply Chain is embarking on a series of large scale logistics processes and warehousing revamp initiatives. We seek an experienced and self-motivated individual who is passionate in warehouse automation, process digitalisation and logistics modernisation. This is a rare opportunity where you will work closely with the senior operations leaders and the strategic planning team to direct influence and transform the logistics scene crucial to sustain our supermarket business growth.

Responsibilities

• Support the design of automation solutions for warehouse storage and handling by providing inputs with relevant industry knowledge on best-in-class material handling systems, robotics, warehouse management systems, warehouse execution and control systems
• Develop tests and lead proof of concepts and device testing to gather crucial statistics and data to support the Industrial Engineering team in the selections of right devices and the coming up with detailed designs of the final solutions
• Identify and implement the minimal viable product to develop prove points for full scale implementation
• Work closely with Warehouse Operations Teams, Automation Maintenance Team and end users to ensure all requirements are captured, alignment of final operation workflow and technical considerations including parts and maintenance
• Support the Project Managers in monitoring the testing budget and provide inputs on product efficiency, cost efficiency, productivity and ease of use and maintenance
• Manage all conversations with material handling system vendors from selection, procurement, designing, testing, installing to roll out
• Embed quality across all aspects of the project to deliver successfully, enforcing project governance, ensuring transparent and timely communication to project sponsors and stakeholders on any emerging risks/dependencies and corresponding mitigation plans.
• Anticipate and manage changes to both project plan / framework as well as project scope and detailed documentation of project and changes.

Requirements

• Master's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or any other related profession.
• Minimum 5 years of warehouse optimisation and automation experience related to retail, FMCG, logistics etc.
• Possess a strong knowledge and understanding of the end-to-end (E2E) supply chain including logistics, transportation, process improvement and inventory management.
• In depth knowledge and experience in warehouse automation, robotics and industrial technologies
• Strong leadership qualities to negotiate and exercise influence when managing internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Strong change agent who drives and champions change.
• Excellent reporting and documentation skills to ensure timely, clear, and concise information flow among all project stakeholders.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to a diverse range of audiences/stakeholders and deliver difficult messages whilst maintaining buy-in.
