Responsibilities:

• Legal Advisory & Business Support:
  Provide comprehensive legal counsel across business functions, focusing on commodities trading, supply chain management, procurement contracts, and other commercial transactions.
  Take charge of key legal functions, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts related to trading agreements, supply contracts, and joint ventures.
• Legal Framework & Compliance:
  Establish and maintain the legal department's operational framework by developing processes, policies, and best practices for managing legal matters across the company.
  Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations in the commodities sector, including trade sanctions, environmental laws, and anti-money laundering regulations.
• Risk Management & Strategic Counsel:
  Identify, manage, and mitigate legal risks in the dynamic commodities market, advising on matters such as commodity pricing, market fluctuations, and international trading operations.
  Provide strategic legal advice to senior management, supporting business decisions while ensuring regulatory compliance in Indonesia and other relevant jurisdictions.
• M&A and Dispute Resolution:
  Support mergers and acquisitions by leading legal due diligence, negotiating contracts, and managing the integration of new business entities.
  Handle dispute resolution processes, including overseeing arbitration, regulatory investigations, and managing external legal counsel.
• Compliance Monitoring & Reporting:
  Set up and oversee legal compliance and regulatory reporting structures to ensure alignment with laws across multiple jurisdictions, with a focus on the Indonesian market.
  Monitor and interpret legal developments in the commodities and trading sectors, providing proactive advice on emerging regulations.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized institution; admission to the bar is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as in-house counsel, ideally within the commodities or trading sector.
• Strong expertise in commodities trading, supply chain law, and international trade regulations, with a focus on the Indonesian market.
• Proven ability to work independently and shape legal strategies and operational processes.
• Proficiency in drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts, including trading agreements and joint ventures.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to provide practical legal solutions in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in Bahasa Indonesia, English, and Chinese is required to effectively liaise with associates in Indonesia, China, and the China HQ office.
