Our client is a Global Financial Institution and are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel for their businesses across Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong.

Responsibilities:

• Provide legal advice on all aspects of the Wealth Management business, including financial products, credit transactions and investment activities while ensuring adherence to applicable laws and regulations across different jurisdictions.
• Draft and review bank documentation related to account management, credit products and investment offerings while managing legal risks.
• Advise on regulatory issues as well as account-related matters, banking secrecy, data privacy, and cross-border business operations.
• Support the implementation of new initiatives and products, ensuring legal compliance and alignment with business objectives.
• Work closely with internal clients to meet their needs while overseeing legal considerations.
• Oversee litigious matters and client disputes.

Requirements:

• Law degree from an accredited institution with at least 6 to 10 years of experience in banking and regulatory compliance with a focus on wealth management. Litigation experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of banking laws, regulations and best practices in Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to recommend effective workaround solutions.
