The Advanced Remanufacturing and Technology Centre (ARTC) is an industry-led Centre by the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). Based on a contemporary business model of public-private partnership, the Centre transforms remanufacturing and manufacturing research into industry ready solutions for cross-sectoral industry members by bringing together best-in-class global companies and R&D minds in Singapore.
JOB DESCRIPTION
ARTC is seeking an innovative and experienced researcher to join the Remanufacturing Process Technology group. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in research projects related to electron-beam welding and wire-based cladding processes, focusing on the following areas:
-Understanding and optimizing process and post-processing parameters for electron-beam welding and cladding of high-performance alloys.
-Deep penetration welding and the development of welding process strategies for bi-metallic materials.
-Developing hybrid manufacturing processes for multi-material forming and fabrication.
-Designing directed energy deposition toolpaths and deposition strategies to enhance part consistency and quality.
-Development of electron-beam process monitoring and control methodologies for precise weld depth control.
-Advancing wire-based direct energy deposition processes.
JOB REQUIREMENT
-PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or Metallurgy.
-At least 3 years of R&D experience in fusion-based materials processing.
-Knowledge of directed energy deposition processes or welding.
-Strong background in understanding and correlating processes, microstructure, and properties in welded and additively manufactured metallic alloys.
-Effective individual contributor and team collaborator.
-Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
-Critical thinker with a problem-solving mindset.
-Ability to work effectively and independently.
-Demonstrated high level of initiative to learn and develop new process capabilities.
The above eligibility criteria are not exhaustive. A*STAR may include additional selection criteria based on its prevailing recruitment policies. These policies may be amended from time to time without notice. We regret that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
