Position Available: Project Officer

Prof Zbynek Bozdech's group at the NTU School of Biological Sciences is seeking a Project Officer to contribute to a research project focused on the malaria parasite. This role involves employing molecular biology techniques and bioinformatic analyses to study the parasite's responses to environmental stressors.

You will take ownership of the project, from planning experiments to analyzing results and presenting scientific findings.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct experiments for gene expression analysis on laboratory samples.
  • Perform bioinformatic processing and analysis of gene expression data.
  • Prepare reports and presentations based on results.
  • Maintain detailed records of experimental techniques, procedures, and outcomes.
  • Handle malaria cell culture.
  • Manage lab operations and resources.
  • Any other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements:
  • A BSc in Biological Sciences or a related field.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English - essential for data analysis and communication with stakeholders
  • Working proficiency in programming languages (Python, R).
  • Experience with aseptic techniques and basic molecular biology methods is preferred.


You will receive necessary trainings on field-specific techniques and in-house protocols. Upon completing training, you are expected to work independently on daily experiments.
