Research Fellow (Thermal Magneto-transport Measurements in Low Dimensional Magnets)
Join Our Team at the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore
The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) at NTU Singapore hosts research and education activities in two divisions: Division of Mathematical Sciences (MAS) and Division of Physics and Applied Physics (PAP). MAS covers diverse topics ranging from pure mathematics to the applications of mathematics in cryptography, computing, business, and finance. PAP covers many areas of fundamental and applied physics, including quantum information, condensed matter physics, biophysics, and photonics. Over the years, SPMS has attracted talented individuals from around the world and Singapore to join as scientific leaders and researchers.
Join the laboratory of Professor Christos Panagopoulos. Our research concerns the study and control of the electronic states in functional materials. We investigate problems such as chiral magnetism, unconventional superconductivity, new collective behavior in the vicinity of quantum phase transitions and electron motion through materials at their quantum limits. Experimental techniques developed in-house for our research include miniature magnetometers, scanning probes, thermal and electrical measurement apparatuses to the milli-Kelvin regime and high fields.
Position Available: Thermal magneto-transport measurements in low dimensional magnets
We are seeking a highly motivated post-doctoral Research Fellow to lead experimental efforts in low-temperature thermal magneto-transport of low dimensional magnets. Qualities we are seeking for are creativity and high impact accomplishments in low temperature experimental condensed matter physics. Facilities for measurements have been developed to support the experimental work of the Research Fellow. The Research Fellow will be employed and stationed at the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. For more information about the laboratory please visit: www.phynelab.org
Key Responsibilities:
The researcher's primary role will be low-temperature thermal magneto-transport measurements to explore the nascent field of topological magnonics in low dimensional magnetic materials.
Job Requirements:
Technical Requirements:
Further Job Requirements:
The College of Science seeks a diverse and inclusive workforce and is committed to equality of opportunity. We welcome applications from all and recruit on the basis of merit, regardless of age, race, gender, religion, marital status and family responsibilities, or disability.
We regret to inform that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
