A Research Fellow position is available in the DNA and RNA Editing (DaRE) Laboratory at the School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) in NTU. The laboratory, led by Assoc Prof Tan Meng How, works on developing and applying cutting edge biotechnologies, including high throughput next generation (NGS) sequencing and CRISPR-Cas, to read, write, and decipher genomes and transcriptomes in living cells.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and/or apply new genomic technologies such as CRISPR
  • Perform wet-lab experiments on RNA editing and the ADAR enzymes
  • Analyze data and prepare reports and presentations
  • Write and publish high-impact journal papers
  • Guide graduate and undergraduate students


Job Requirements:
  • A PhD degree from a reputable university in science or engineering
  • Strong research experience in biological sciences, bioengineering, biotechnology, or a related discipline (such as genomics, genetics, computational biology, cell biology, molecular biology, synthetic biology etc.)
  • Outstanding publication track record, preferably with a first-author paper in a high-impact journal
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team
  • Good working knowledge of the latest genomic technologies
