Position Overview: The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of interior design projects, ensuring cost efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of design quality. The role involves overseeing cost estimation, budgeting, contract management, and procurement for commercial and residential interior design projects. The Quantity Surveyor must be well-versed with local building regulations, market rates, and industry standards.
Job Scope and Responsibilities:
- Extensive experience in tendering for commercial interior fit-out and residential projects, with strong expertise in managing all aspects of the tendering process.
- Skilled in measuring quantities, handling progress claims, preparing quotations, and processing final claims.
- Proficient in performing a wide range of quantity surveying tasks, including pre- and post-contract duties, taking off quantities, cost control, managing variations, finalising costs, and handling tender administration.
- Ability to interpret and meet tender requirements, ensuring timely preparation and submission of tenders in line with specific deadlines.
- Expert in preparing and analysing tender costings, ensuring alignment with project budgets and client expectations.
- Experienced in sourcing new vendors and compiling quotations to ensure competitive pricing and high-quality materials.
- Adept at reviewing pricing, summarising subcontractor offers and materials, and evaluating and certifying contractors’ claims.
- Proficient in quantity take-offs and cost estimation, as well as sourcing reliable contractors and suppliers.
- Support project teams in managing contractual matters, including extensions of time and handling expense claims.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Architecture, Building Services, Quantity Surveying, or equivalent
- Experience in tendering commercial/residential interior fitting out projects.
- At least 3 year(s) of working experience in the related field in Singapore projects is required for this position
- Able to work independently and speak with confidence.
