The Design Ethics and Visual Integrity Lab in the School of Art, Design and Media, founded by Assistant Professor Lisa Winstanley, is seeking a highly organized and skilled part-time Research Assistant. The successful candidate will be expected to work 21 hours per week.

The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge projects focused on addressing visual plagiarism, with the goal of developing, testing and implementing participatory design workshops for international and interdisciplinary design educators.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitating the day-to-day operations of research projects
• Data compilation
• Maintaining accurate records of research participants, safeguarding the confidentiality of subjects, as necessary
• Transcribing and summarizing audio dialogue
• Performing data pre-processing and analysis
• Managing and maintaining project records
• Assisting in the preparation and writing of progress reports, presentations, abstracts, manuscripts and publications, including outputs aimed at the general public
• Creating visual materials both print based and visual for public communications
• Social media/online content creation and management
• Performing other ad hoc administrative duties to support the research projects

Job Requirements:

• At least a Bachelor's degree
• Communicate in a friendly manner, excellent verbal & written communication in English is essential to conduct research, and interpersonal skills
• High degree of responsibility and maturity
• Ability to work independently
• Flexibility in responding to fluid situations
• High degree of competence in relevant software tools (Adobe Creative Suite/Microsoft office)
• Familiarity with project management software or willingness to learn
• Task-orientation, excellent organizational skills, attention to details and accuracy
• Experience in the field of graphic design and a strong understanding of graphic design principles is essential
