Part-Time lecturer for DF2003 Cinematography 1

The School of Art, Design and Media (ADM) at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, invites qualified candidates to apply for a Part-Time Lecturer for DF2003 for Cinematography 1. The Part-Time Lecturer is expected to teach an undergraduate core course commencing in January 2025.

Cinematography 1 is a 13-week course that develops skills and techniques of cinematography. A critical analysis of aesthetics and techniques of cinematography through small exercises and analysis of important films and cinematographers will prepare students for further studies in film.

Candidates will possess a passion in guiding students in exploring the possibilities of cinematography beyond its current forms. This could include anything from traditional scripted filmmaking, serialized content to short-format videos.

Successful candidates will have a relevant Master's and/or PhD in Cinematography or a related field with a track record of creative practice in film production. Past teaching experience at Undergraduate Level is preferred. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Film Production or related field and sufficient and relevant industry experience may also be considered in exceptional cases.
