Job Summary
Strategy
Treasury works closely with senior management, the businesses, Country CEOs / CFOs, and Finance to manage and promote the bank's liquidity, capital, and balance sheet position.
Within Treasury (which comprises Capital, Liquidity & Markets), the Treasury Liquidity function is responsible to driving the strategic liquidity agenda, including Funding Planning, Funds Transfer Pricing ('FTP') and Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Booking ('IRRBB').
The Funding Planning team ensures that the Group maintains funding plans that can maximise returns whilst able to withstand extreme but plausible stress events on the funding & liquidity levels of the Bank.
A funding plan that must be well designed, stable, cost-efficient, and diversified across multiple sources of funding whilst providing clarity & accountability to business owners responsible to driving it forward.
Key Responsibilities
We are looking for a talented individual to play a frontline role, who can integrate deep business knowledge, excellent critical thinking, and interpersonal skills to drive optimal analytical & forecasting solutions for the bank. A successful candidate will work closely with various global treasury & business stakeholders to enhance Funding Planning methodologies, impact analysis and provide projections of business strategies.
Processes
• Create a funding planning standard for the Group, by building funding commitments around balance sheet projections. Socialization and implementation across key businesses and regions, providing clarity on accountability to business owners.
• Create an overview of funding profile for key Standard Chartered entities, understanding the nuances around trapped liquidity and funding tenor profile.
• Support the team in the corporate plan exercise and understand where business wants to drive the shape and size of the balance sheet, within typical Treasury constraints. Drive financial targets through balance sheet led process to align key countries.
• Engage with key stakeholders for pricing and planning tracking to course correct the plan towards greater opportunity and away from emerging risks.
• Support the Funding Planning team with insightful analytics to drive balance sheet performance and to support the bank achieve its financial targets.
Business
• Drive engagement with business / segment / Countries / risk stakeholders to ensure alignment with the team's various optimisation initiatives.
• Support the implementation and operationalisation of enhanced management and forecasting tools.
Key Responsibilities
Governance
• Understanding of the regulatory framework in which the Group operates, the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role, and keep up to date with changes to the internal frameworks, particularly on liquidity & capital.
• Understanding the trading book and banking book products with their impact to the balance sheet, as well as the sources and uses of funding and requirements that arise from off balance sheet products.
• Understanding of the impact of different products and businesses on the liquidity metrics on the bank.
• Build a close and effective working relationship with the Treasury, Business and Business Finance - Transaction Banking (TB), Financial Markets (FM), CPM (Credit Portfolio Management), FRM (Financial Resource Management), WRB (Wealth and Retail Banking) and functions within the Group and countries.
• Ensure Group FP&A operates in accordance with Group policies and Standards.

Our Ideal Candidate
• 5+ years' experience in Treasury, Finance Product Control or Balance sheet management team
• Strong academic record at bachelor or master's degree level in business, economics, finance, financial engineering or related field from a well-recognised institution.
• Detailed financial Analysis to support Funding Planning decision making
• Experience on product and dealing with various stakeholders
• Knowledge of Interest rate risk, liquidity, client pricing, financial Products and Markets
• Proficiency in data analysis and business reporting
• Communication & Stakeholder management
• Self-starter; work through ambiguity to recommend business methodology / analytics options based on materiality and best available information
• Foster strong trust with stakeholders; be pragmatic when handle challenging stakeholder conversations
• Adjust communication styles to suit audience needs (e.g. seniority and business vs. technical domains)
• Strive for optimal balance between quality of delivery and effort/time spent.
• Help review work and provide guidance / feedback to junior members of the team
