The Manager for the NBS Work-Study Degree Programme (WSDeg) will oversee the entire lifecycle of the program, including onboarding new employers, managing outreach and events, ensuring effective placement processes, and maintaining strong relationships with employers and students. This role requires exceptional organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills to facilitate a seamless and successful WSDeg experience for all participants.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development & Stakeholders Management:
  • Regular outreach to potential employers
  • Regular follow ups with potential employers to secure signed agreements and Learning & Development (L&D) Plans
  • Onboard new WSDeg employers, including creation of accounts and explaining processes.
  • Outreach and constant follow ups with existing WSDeg employers to secure roles/opportunities


Event Planning:
  • Plan WSDeg cycle outreaches and initiatives, including setting objectives, target audience, format, budget, date, venue, and managing vendors.
  • Prepare and design publicity materials, deciding on the modes of publicity.
  • Execute outreach and engagement events for employers and students.


Programme Operations and Customer Service Management:
  • Assess all roles posted on NBS CareerFIT for suitability and liaise with employers for any required amendments.
  • Monitor and manage all placement activities, reporting and resolving any discrepancies and issues.
  • Inform students about internships, procedures, and performance expectations.
  • Ensure timely communication with students regarding available opportunities and application processes/
  • Conduct weekly engagement sessions for students.
  • Address students' questions and concerns, troubleshoot account issues, and follow up on students' eligibility requirements.


End-to-End Process Management:
  • Oversee the entire process for the NBS WSDeg
  • Monitor placement progress
  • Resolve internship-related issues arising from students or employers, including disciplinary cases and conducting service recovery
  • Follow-up and manage feedback from employers and students, ensuring timely responses
  • Suggest improvements to internship practices, operations, and customer service processes to enhance the programme's effectiveness
  • Verify the eligibility of offers based on dates, stipends, and agreements
  • Work with the multiple departments to ensure placements are accurately recorded and processes are cleared
  • Work with the Academics team to ensure course registration requests and criteria are addressed


Strategy Management and Improvements:
  • Continuously seek new ideas and methods to improve work performance and outcomes for the team.
  • Implement activities for work improvements within the team and with other departments, adopting technologies to enhance work outcomes.
  • Update the WSDeg Student Self-Checklist, FAQs for employers, and info decks/video guides for employers.
  • Gather feedback from employers and students post-cycle to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, Human Resources, or a related field
  • At least 4 to 6 years of experience in internship/training management, service delivery, program management, career services, or a related area, preferably in tertiary education
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in providing career coaching and/or consultation support is advantageous.
  • Understanding of business development, customer service management, and business operations
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
