Research Associate/Research Fellow at Assoc Prof Torsten Wuestefeld's Lab at LKCMedicine.

The Research Associate/Fellow will be in charge of the mouse colony, conduct translational research to identify new therapeutic targets for regenerative medicine, and develop new animal models for liver, cardiometabolic and pancreas disease. The work is essential to generate IP, publications and translational impact.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting in vivo and in vitro functional genetic screens
• Mouse survival surgery as partial hepatectomy
• Hydrodynamic tail vein injections
• Supervising and teaching of students
• Health and safety related supervision
• Contributing to grant proposal, IACUC protocol and paper writing
• Cell culture of mouse and human cell lines as well as primary cells
• Leading independently projects

Competencies and Requirements:

• Have experience in molecular biology, in vitro and in vivo work:
  
  • Protein, RNA, DNA isolation
  • PCR, qPCR, generating sequencing library
  • Injecting mice, operating mice, harvesting organs, liver perfusion
  • Breeding animals and animal care
  • Writing IACUC protocols, grants
  • Leading 1-2 scientific projects
• MSc (for Associate) and PhD (for Fellow)
