The job is for a position at the National Robotics Programme (NRP) Office. The office works with major stakeholders of the Robotics Community in Singapore to build-up Robotics R&D capabilities and drive its deployment and adoption in Singapore. NRP does this by addressing market demands from multiple sectors such as Manufacturing, Logistics, Facilities Management, Healthcare, Aviation and Maritime. Through the market demands, we will develop R&D capabilities and systems for deployment and commercialization for in-country needs and global export. NRP works actively with the various ecosystem stakeholders, including public research institutions, government agencies, trade associations and companies, to facilitate efforts covering the entire life cycle from ideas generation, project formulation, R&D execution and last mile engineering.

The job seeks a highly motivated professional with Engineering, Science or Computer Science degree, with 5 to 10 years of relevant work experiences to undertake various tasks in NRP:
  • R&D planning & road-mapping
  • R&D project scoping, formulation and assessment of technical and commercialisation merits with both the academic and industry community
  • R&D project management (includes administration, regular reviews and assessment of technical and project progress, and workshops)
  • Management of R&D budget, project deliverables and grants for projects
  • Planning and support activities to build and grow the robotics ecosystem stakeholders
  • Secretariat roles for various regular NRP meetings and internal organizational roles (e.g. Business Continuity Manager, Procurement Champion) when assigned


Job requirements
  • Minimum Degree in Engineering, Science and Computer Science such as Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Mechatronics & Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, etc
  • 5 to 10 years relevant experiences in the areas such as R&D Projects Planning; Ideas Formulation; Road-Mapping; R&D Projects Management; Collaboration & Partnership; Translation and Commercialisation; Product Design, Development and Testing.
  • A proactive attitude to problem solving, with high independence to fulfil assigned tasks and objectives.
  • Strong leadership and initiative to orchestrate collaboration of various stakeholders within the Robotics eco-system and manage tensions and conflicts to arrive at a beneficial outcomes for all parties where possible.
  • Good people skills to network and work with multiple parties.
  • Good writing skill and strong ability to synthesize information succinctly to record minutes of meetings, approval memos and papers for senior management and committees.
