Job Summary

Standard Chartered has announced ambitious targets to reach net-zero carbon emissions from its financed activity by 2050, including interim 2030 targets for the most carbon-intensive sectors. The Bank has also announced plans to mobilise USD300 billion in green and transition finance by 2030.

We are looking for a Change Manager who is passionate about sustainability/ESG to provide Change Management expertise to design, implement and support operating model and process changes with end users from SME Banking. This role works in tandem with the Head of Business Performance Improvement in SME Banking, and the ESG Technology Product Owner.

Candidates will have the chance to work in a dynamic environment, driving meaningful change through Technology and business processes.

This is a Direct contract role for 9 months.

Key Responsibilities

Business
Drive the communication and engagement strategy:
• Stakeholder identification, assessment and engagement across locations and functions (front office, operations, risk, compliance)
• Communications plan development and execution to drive awareness, understanding and support across a broad range of global stakeholders
• Ensure effective messaging and stakeholder involvement throughout the change lifecycle
Design and implement training programs:
• Training planning, needs assessment, content preparation
• Training delivery to equip employees across impacted stakeholder groups with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate changes seamlessly
Support a variety of Operational Readiness outcomes:
• User Access Management
• User Acceptance Testing
• Country compliance requirements
• Post-go live support

Processes
Deliver Operating Model design outcomes, including:
• Definition of future state design across people, process, technology and information
• Collaborative problem solving across front-to-back stakeholder groups to successfully identify and improve/resolve process pain-points
• Support Process Owners and SME teams in development of system guidance and detailed work instructions to support end users
Deliver Change Impact Assessment:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and articulate impacts between current and target state
• Identify change management needs across impacted business units, and potential risks
• Develop and manage response plans to identified business impacts, ensuring they are adequately addressed through appropriate means (design uplifts, training, communications, engagement, business readiness activities, etc.)

People & Talent

• Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Work in collaboration with business stakeholders and product team members.

Risk Management

• Identify projects key risks and issues, and to implement effective mitigation plans.

Governance

• Report and present projects progress through governance forums.

Regulatory & Business Conduct

• Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.

• Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

• Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Our Ideal Candidate

Must Have:

• Process design and change management / business implementation experience at scale - either global or regional delivery, supporting multiple impacted business functions
• Demonstrable experience of using structured change management approaches in large scale delivery to bring the target state "to life" for users on the ground
• Excellent written, communication and presentation skills; able to effectively engage, influence and manage senior business stakeholders
• Eye for detail and excellent problem solving and analytical skills, able to bring clarity and structure to areas of ambiguity
• Strong individual contributor with proactive working style; able to take initiative, identify opportunities and work with minimal management oversight.

Preferred:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 8 plus years experience proven experience as a Change Manager in the banking or financial sector
• Experience implementing changes in Environmental Social & Governance (ESG) framework or related processes
• Certification in change management (e.g. Prosci).
