The National Institute of Education invites suitable applications for the position of Research Fellow on a 8-month contract at the Natural Sciences and Science Education (NSSE) Academic Group.

Project Title: Israel-Singapore Urban Farm (iSURF): Data-Intensive Autonomous Intelligent Urban Farming For Whole-Plant Yield Optimization

Project Introduction: The project aims to develop a cost-efficient, replicable, data-centered, autonomous, intelligent urban farming system that can be installed in any specified urban structure.

Requirements:

• PhD degree in plant physiology with rich experience in urban horticulture;
• Good understanding of plant responses to different environmental factors;
• Good technical skill in the analysis of plant nutritional quality and data analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Design and conduct experiments of vegetable crops grown in the greenhouse;
• Carry out the measurements of different physiological aspects in both the greenhouse and the lab;
• Analyze nutritional quality of vegetable crops in the lab;
• Data analysis;
• Prepare manuscript for publication.
